2/3 portion Bing Cherries, pitted
1/3 portion Sugar Cubes
Kentucky Bourbon to cover
Pit cherries, add to crock.
Add sugar cubes.
Pour bourbon over cherry and sugar.
Let it sit for at least 3 months.
The pitted cherries and the sugar. It took about an hour and a half to pit the cherries.
Now the good part, add the bourbon. It took the whole 1.75 liter bottle.
Stir, and wait. Ready in three months!!!
Dave the bartender at a restaurant called Real Food this recipe. He said it was an old family recipe. Sadly, Real Food closed. But the Cherry Smash lives on!!
